It seems like yesterday, as I was sitting in front of the TV and almost falling asleep, when I had a brain wave to counteract this diet-psychology hang-up of mine.
I figured that I need to reinforce my thinking that “this is not a diet I am on“, its about dieting and you or me actually, and this has to be a way of life. I simply have to change my thinking because diet means restrictions to me and I hate restrictions. So to free up my thinking about “diet” I have to feel like it means something else or better.
Eating Low Carbs and Less Fat When Dieting For Weight Loss
-Think back when you heard this myth. Cut back on all your fat, all your carbs and eat only the healthiest of healthy foods. Do you remember the craze the followed with books, programs and even special menus at popular eating establishments? Cut down on sugars and simple carbohydrates that spike your blood sugar levels. Choose complex carbohydrates like oatmeal and sweet potatoes that will provide slow release energy. While eating frequent small meals, or meals with a low ‘glycemic index’ (a measure of the meal’s effect on blood sugar) may help you ‘control’ or ‘even out’ your insulin levels.
I even heard this one, that fasting for as little as 24 hours has been shown to drastically reduce your insulin levels. It may help in dieting and you can cleanse your body at the same time.
Finding a great hobby to keep your mind of the fact that you are dieting and you can help yourself to lose weight much faster. It can also make the whole experience much more enjoyable.

The purpose of dieting is also getting your body to accept the low intake of food and making it a lifelong habit, if you intend to maintain your weight once you have lost it and avoid weight gain, its important to change. Actually that should be written up loud and clear,
